It Is Abomination

Melito Barrera • February 25, 2025

Leviticus 18:22 says, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

The word “abomination” means something that is hated because it is so disgusting and detestable! In fact, “the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire” (Gen 19:24), due to their wickedness and their unbridled homosexual practices, which is called sodomy. A “sodomite” (Deut 23:17), is a person who lies “with mankind, as with womankind.” When God created man in His own image, He created them “male and female” (Gen 1:27). Homosexuality is changing God’s only design for the human gender. When a person who was born as a man, with XY sex chromosomes, tells everyone that he is now a woman, then he had just “changed the truth of God into a lie” (Rom 1:25)! And since “lying lips are abomination to the Lord” (Prov 12:22), it is a total rebellion against Him. When they set themselves up as their own gods (Jer 16:20), God gave them up unto vile affections.

Because women “change the natural use into that which is against nature” (Rom 1:26), and likewise, “men with men working that which is unseemly” (Rom 1:27)! Today’s LGBTQ agenda are openly and unashamedly promoting their ungodly lifestyle by demanding that everyone would accept them in what they are doing; just “as it was in the days of Noe” (Lk 17:26). Even the liberal politicians are changing the laws in order to accommodate their needs. They even extend special favors by funding their utterly sinful agendas with taxpayer dollars! Same-sex marriages have been legalized in many countries and have been promoted by major global corporations.

Their main battle cry is that of tolerance! Sadly, many mainline Christian denominations no longer classify homosexuality as a sin. They even accept and marry homosexual couples. When people have “their conscience seared” (1 Tim 4:2), or hardened to sin, then they are closing the door for God to operate in their lives. God is gracious, loving, and merciful, but He is also holy and just (Acts 3:14). There is a terrible price to pay for rejecting Him! God bless you!
