We Shall Be Safe By Trusting God
Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”

If we are prone to being easily influenced by man’s opinion rather than God’s word, then we shall always find ourselves in compromising situations (Mt 6:24). Just like king Saul when he “feared the people” (1 Sam 15:24), instead of obeying the commandments of the Lord. If we know that God says it, then we must do it (Jms 4:17)! People have a tendency to put “the first and great commandment” (Mt 22:38), to love the Lord, in second place. But our love for God must come first and foremost (Jn 21:17). If a husband would obey God’s command to love his wife (Eph 5:25), then he must first love God (1 Jn 4:8).
The more he loves God, the more he would love his wife. If our motive to serve the Lord is based solely on pleasing others and their approval (Gal 1:10), then our ministry would become more carnal and pragmatic or results oriented. The basis for our decisions on church ministry would hinge solely upon what works rather than what God’s word says (Jer 23:16)! Sadly, pragmatic pastors are becoming more common nowadays. There is nothing wrong with praying for big numbers and nice buildings for our churches.
However, if it means merely giving a lip service (Isa 29:13), and soft pedaling key Bible doctrines such as repentance (2 Tim 2:25), separation (Eph 5:7), and personal sanctification (Rom 6:22); then they are more concerned about becoming politically correct by not offending people for fear of losing them! But if our motivation is purely because of our love for God (Jn 14:15), then our ministries would become more spiritual as we give all the glory to Him (1 Cor 10:31). Pastors who fear the Lord would lead their flocks under His guidance and direction (Ps 37:23), because He will give them wisdom (Prov 9:10). Otherwise, the people they fear will be the ones leading them. If we put our “trust in the Lord” (Prov 3:5), then we “shall be safe!” God bless you!
